Snowy Christmas Church

Last year I got a wonderful Cottage Cutz die (Church Scene) for my birthday from my daughter. I have felt like I need to get started on Christmas cards, and this was a good one to get started with. I backed the sky portion with some grey cardstock, and the ground with white cardstock; next I sprayed the card with spray glue and sprinkled it with loose clear glitter. The paper behind the church windows and door was colored bright yellow. Next, I sprayed the card again and sprinkled it with Martha Stewart coarse glitter, which really resembles falling snow.

Sunburst Happy Day

Over the weekend, I went to a discontinued SU sale and was fortunate enough to get lots of goodies. Two of them were used in today's card; originally, I had used the SU Sunburst Thinlets die on the card, but after assembling it, it looked too plain. I searched through my inventory, but could not find anything suitable to put on the card, so instead, I ran another paper through the die and embossed it with a SU Chevron EF. That seemed to make it more interesting. Other items used were Spellbinders Picot Edge Circles Die and SU Friendly Phrases stamp. Viva Liquid Pearls were used to accent the sentiment.

A Musical Note

Today's card was so much fun to make because I was trying to fulfill guidelines set out by several challenges. I had some acetate left over from a package that dies come in, so I recycled it and ran it through a Darice Sheet Music EF, then inked it with white so it would show up better. The background paper is blue with white polka dots. I used a technique called "kissing," which I learned about at Time out Challenges (please see link below to read about it). A liquid pearl was added to the butterfly and the center of the flower; foliage was die cut from a Spellbinders Sprigs die.

All in all, it was lots of fun to make, and really stretched my imagination, especially the part of recycling something.

Spring Flowers

Today's card was made using a couple of retired Stampin' Up stamps; I inked the background script piece in a turquoise color, then used colored markers on the stamp to make blue flowers with green stems. It is glued onto a blue and white polka dotted background paper and tied with a double-looped hand tied bow.

Spring Birthday

Today's card is a simple one, made with a Sizzix folding card die. The sentiment is from TLC Creations, and is punched out with a EK Success scalloped round punch; the little bird is made from a Stampin' Up punch. His little eye is a very small dark grey rhinestone.

A Little Birdie Hello

Today's card used lots of different patterned papers that I had lying around in my craft room. The random patterns, along with the Traffic Jam EF (by Cuttlebug), make a quirky, whimsical greeting that I hope will make the recipient smile. The bird is by Cottage Cutz. Sentiment is a die cut from Little Yellow Wagon.

1 Chronicles 15:34

Today's card was fun to make because I used a die that had long sat in the drawer neglected. It is Spellbinders Fleur de Lis. The sentiment was a beautiful freebee from Word Art Wednesday, which was featured a few weeks back.  The flower is also from Spellbinders, Die D Lites Bloom One; foliage is Mini Fanciful Flourish by Cheery Lynn. Also used were a half pearl and a hand tied double-looped yellow bow.
