Proverbs 16:3

Today's card is very simple. I wanted it to reflect a country charm sort of feel that gingham invokes, hence the background paper. The verse is from Proverbs 16, verse 3, and is a reminder that we can trust in the Lord with all our dealings, both great and small.

Products used:

Memory Box Pippi Butterfly; Fabulous Phlox
Cheery Lynn Mini Fanciful Flourish
Spellbinders Floral Ovals
Viva Liquid Pearls
Pink Ribbon
Sentiment from Word Art Wednesday, printed from my computer

Spring Flourish

Today's card was made using a couple of dies that have been neglected for a long time, and a new little flower punch just purchased this weekend. They are: ODBD Decorative Embossed Vase Die, Die-Namics Fancy Flourish and a tiny Fiskars flower punch. Also used were Stampendous MTC03 for the sentiment, Viva Liquid Pearls and a gold cord.

Spring Birthday

Today's card is made with some scraps that had been lying around. It's always good to clean things out if possible, and it is easy to get an abundance of paper pieces that are too big to throw away. Maybe others do not deal with hanging on to little pieces of things, but I do.

The main color swatch is the piece in the middle and it was used to determine other colors used. It has turquoise, lime green, pink, orange, gold and purple, so it gave me lots of options. I used an EK Success punch--Daisy Scallop--to trim the center piece; the sentiment is from the JustRite Grand Sentiments set and is made with VersaMark ink and blue embossing powder; the flower is from Spellbinders Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters set and the foliage is Cheery Lynn Mini Fanciful Flourish. A white doily from a local restaurant was clipped and placed in the upper right hand corner, and a turquoise rhinestone is used to embellish the aster.

Here is the card:

Primary Colors

I have a friend who is suffering from a serious illness, and many of us are praying for her complete recovery. In the mean time, I am sending her this card. It seems like most of my Cricut cartridges tend to be more whimsical, and that is the case with the cartridge used today--and someone who is ill might just smile at a more light-hearted greeting.

I used these tools to make the card:

David Tutera Silver Embossed Card Base
Cricut Paper Lace Cartridge
Spellbinders Papillon Two; Spiral Rose One
Krylon Sapphire Glitter Mist
Rhinestones
Viva Red Liquid Pearls
Red Ribbon

And here it is:

Masculine Card

I don't know about others, but I really struggle with masculine cards. I like swirls and frills and ribbons and butterflies and bows and flowers and lace--all stuff that is truly not masculine. So when faced with the need to make a man's card, creativity dries up many times.

So today's card is a try at that very thing. I had a Cricut cutout that had been lying around for a long time and it looked like it could possibly go on a man's card. I wish I could remember which cartridge was used to make it, but searching through my cartridges did not yield any answers to that question. Sorry! The design has "Thinking of You" cut out, and above the "i" I put a turquoise blue button for a dot. The base is made of kraft cardstock with an overlay of burlap, then the cutout on top of that. The dark brown button is tied with a turquoise blue, brown and white ribbon; all that brown needed a splash of color without taking it over to a feminine side.

Here is the card:

Crisp Red and White

Today's card is a clean red and white, and although it is close to Valentine's Day, it is not necessarily made for that purpose because it has no hearts or Valentine's sentiment on it.

It is made with Martha Stewart's Crochet Flower Pattern Punch (the Punch around the Page kind) as a white piece laid over a red background. The flowers and foliage are made with a Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms die, and the corner flourish is a from a Cheery Lynn Art Deco B Corners die. Liquid pearls are also used as an added embellishment.

Spring Is Coming!

Today's card is made from three patterned papers, lace, ribbon, a sentiment from Close to My Heart and liquid pearls placed on the butterflies. They are punched with two Martha Stewart butterfly punches. The larger butterfly is also retouched with some pink glitter glue. I have a lot of patterned paper just waiting to be used, so this helped to deplete my stash, if only a small amount. (Smile.)

Birdie Thank You

Today I went through some of my Cricut cartridges and decided to use some that had been neglected. The sweet little bird on swirly branches is from the Sophie cartridge. The design was cut twice and the little bird was extracted from the second cut and spray painted with silver paint and then sprayed with Krylon Diamond Dust glitter spray. A tiny iridescent bead was glued on the bird's head for an eye. I used three patterned papers on this card:  a dark blue patterned paper, an off white paper with blue branches and a faux blue linen looking paper. Sentiment is from JustRite Grand Sentiments and was applied with VersaMark ink and blue embossing powder. A blue grosgrain double-looped bow was added on the upper right, and liquid pearls were applied to the corners to add more interest.

Here is the card:

Sparkle-licious Birthday

Today's card has lots and lots of sparkle. Isn't glitter one of the most wonderful inventions ever? The card is pretty straightforward in the layout, so not a lot of explanation is necessary.

Here is what was used to make the card:

Martha Stewart: Happy Birthday Punch; Wild Flowers Border Punch
Joy! Fantasy Butterfly Die
Pink Ribbon
Pink and Purple Patterned Papers
Glitter - Lots of it!
Pink and White Liquid Pearls

Here it is:
