Starry Christmas Night

Today's card was made by using several layers of silver-flecked tulle glued to a dark blue background to appear as a very starry night sky as a backdrop for a nativity scene. The die used is Nativity Silhouette from Cottage Cutz, and is run through my machine using four layers of heavy duty aluminum foil. It is also sprinkled with some glitter. A silver bow finishes the project.

Here is the card:

Age Is Merely...

Today's card took a bit of planning, as I printed the quote out on my computer as the first step, making sure that it was properly positioned on the paper. The next step was to use an embossing folder with an Easy Frames insert around the quote. This made an embossing pattern around the quote but left it plain.

The embossed part was mounted on green cardstock, then embellished with foliage, ribbon and rhinestones.

Tools used to make it:

Cuttlebug Floral Fantasy EF
Darice Easy Frames
Cheery Lynn Mini Fanciful Flourish Die
Rhinestones
Green Gingham Ribbon
Sentiment Printed from My Computer

Vintage Image

I found a pretty image on the internet and printed it off a couple of months ago, knowing it might be useful in making a happy, colorful card some day. It printed off a little bit pale, so colored markers were used to brighten up the flowers.

I was going through some old things, cleaning out and throwing away when I happened upon an old yellow paper folder--the kind we used to put reports in that had fasteners on the inside for three-holed notebook paper. Instead of pitching it, I cut it up and ran it through a Cuttlebug Julie's Garden EF, then sanded it so that the white backside showed through. Then it was lightly dusted with glitter. Two bows were added (one out of red and white gingham and one out of gold cord), and a rhinestone for extra sparkle was glued onto the center of the bows.

Just for You

Good Sunday afternoon to all of you!

I have taken a bit of a break from posting lately--just a lot going on and many other things that took priority. You know how it is; life happens.  :o)

Today's card was made with an Anna Griffin EF called Ribbon Stitch Frame. It was in an order I got from HSN (I had signed up for auto shipping of a new set of products that come out about three times a year.) After running it through the machine, I inked the raised areas up with pink ink. The sentiment is from a retired (I think...) Stampin' Up stamp. The butterfly (Spellbinders Wonderful Wings) is cut from vellum and inked with pink ink and then, glittered. The whole card is also lightly glittered, but my camera did not pick up the sparkle. A bias tape bow and liquid pearls finish the project.
